A Prison Officer Imprisoned For ‘highly Intimate’ Relationship With Armed Robber

A Prison officer who carried a steamy intimate relationship with an armed robber has been imprisoned for one year.

Ayshea Gunn became fascinated with Khuram Razaq while he was attending part of a 12-year punishment at HMP Berwyn.

The duo began on a “highly intimate” affair, which marked them exchange intimate videos of themselves using phones and romp in Razaq’s cell.

Gunn got an internet-enabled wristwatch into the prison for Razaq, who transferred £1,580 to her bank account.

Razaq executed calls over a third party so he could be able to breach prison security. The duo traded over 1,000 calls in three months.

Imprisoning Gunn at Mold Crown Court, Judge Niclas Parry admitted she had performed out of character, but he described her: “You put your passions first and you have weakened the trust of the people in your profession.

“Obsessed, you manifested selfishness on a tremendous level.

“You acknowledged what you did was a threat to you and your associates. You involved in a highly intimate relationship with the prisoner. There were thousands of conversations between you, and you continued in communication with him subsequent you had been captured.

“You knew he was a terrible man who has twice been convicted with double-figure judgments.

Razaq, 29, now a prisoner at Buckley Hall Prison in Rochdale, declared owning a specified object inside a prison, specifically a phone. He also admitted owning a specified device proficient of broadcasting or collecting images, tones or data by electronic means, specifically the smartwatch, on November 19 this year.

The court was informed he had a similar prior punishment for owning a forbidden item in prison. Judge Parry enumerated eight months to Razaq’s sentence.
