The Universal Pictures and LEGO Movies have signed a new deal, and the deal was supervised by Donna Langley, Chairman, Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, and Jill Wilfert, Head of Entertainment of the LEGO Group.
Universal Pictures has come up with a five-year exclusive partnership with LEGO Group that will result in production, development of films based on a fusion of original ideas.
Fans are thrilled to hear this news; this means we will get to see newer ideas incorporated in the industry!
CHASING LEGO GROUP
Last year LEGO group business became a free agent and to grasp at the opportunity Warner Bros tried to get an association with the group however that didn’t work. The partnership landed in the hands of The Universal Pictures.
The LEGO franchise started in 2014 with the LEGO movie which failed to charm the audience, directors like Phil Lord & Christopher Miller we unable to fill in the emptiness.
That resulted in a second pitch which was The LEGO Batman Movie directed by Chris McKay. That further led to the LEGO Ninjago Movie, and which led to The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.
Universal Pictures are positive that with a new wave of imagination and with its own Original LEGO titles that movies will pick up on the audience.
A NEW WAVE OF UNIVERSAL PICTURES AND LEGO GROUP
We will see LEGO Groups Wilfert who will be serving as the producer on all LEGO projects developed and released by Universal along with Rideback’s Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich.
Universal Pictures in a statement said that they are pleased to sign a partnership with LEGO Group they are thrilled to work with a brand that not only stays relevant but is also ever-evolving and allows creativity in their storytelling.
They further said that they would keep the unique work of LEGO Group and inspire people all around the world.
