Vin Diesel teases that Riddick 4: Furya’s script is almost being written.
Considered by many to be Diesel’s title role, the franchise started in 2000 with Pitch Black. It grew to include three live-action sequels, an animated movie, various video games, and two novels. The series follows Riddick, an antihero who is a member of a warrior race of adapted humans who were deprived of a military campaign. One of the last of his class, Riddick is isolated from his eyes, allowing him to see in the dark, but at the same time making him sensitive to bright light. Because of this, the character wears polarized glasses for protection.
In Pitch Black, which was written and directed by David Twohy, Riddick was portrayed as a dangerous criminal.
Being taken to prison in a spaceship, an emergency landing leads Riddić to flee on what appears to be an empty desert planet. Riddick is soon attacked by aliens, who join forces with the surviving crew and other passengers in an attempt to expel him from the planet. Pitch Black raised over $ 53 million against a budget of $ 23 million.
The franchise has remained a fan favorite since its debut two decades ago, with mixes of horror with action and science fiction, and plenty of memorable quotes. News of the fourth installment continues for years, which helped Diesel occasionally update the status of the script and even revealed the title of the movie. Taking on Instagram, the megastar joked that the script for Riddick 4: Fury is almost being written. The actor also described how he is acting with self-isolation.
Critically, the franchise has received mixed reviews.
While the second inning of the series has proven to be the lowest point among analysts, the franchise has earned acclaim for its sci-fi adventures and for making Diesel a household name.
Given the relatively long gap between the third and fourth installments and the fact that the franchise’s leadership is most closely related to some of Hollywood’s biggest money-blocking blocks, Diesel is better known as Dominic Toretto and Groot Can. Still, for those who associate the actor with the antiheroic warrior who made him famous, jokes about Riddick 4: Furya would certainly be welcome. The time-out could still be the result of the franchise’s strongest exit.
