Lucifer was picked up by Netflix after a huge fan campaign on social media, with the fourth season-ending emotionally – but it’s not the end of the Tom Ellis character story … oh no!
The great news for fans of the show is that we are expecting the fifth season of Lucifer soon and it is possible that he will return for a sixth season – with his creative team intact.
It was reported in February 2024 that Netflix was considering options for a possible season six, but TV Line now reports that co-organizers Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson have signed new deals with the streamer.
For now, here’s what we know about next season five and up …

Yes! Netflix has renewed the show for the fifth time, with TV Line reporting in March 2024 that Netflix could even continue the series for the sixth season.
How many episodes will we have in season 5?
The good news? Lucifer’s Five Series consists of 10 episodes, but six more have been announced, meaning fans will have 16 hours to have fun.

The scheduled release date:
Ah, the million-dollar question!
There is currently no confirmed release date for the last season, however, we anticipate that the first eight episodes of season 5 of Lucifer will be released in 2024.
That could, however, change, especially with the current Korano pandemic affecting the entertainment industry. TVLine reported that the production of Lucifer’s Season 5 stopped in an effort to stop the spread of the virus.
We are not yet sure how this will affect the release date or possible update of a sixth series, but we will let you know.
