Log Horizon is the serial depiction of a Japanese novel written by Mamare Touno. The show is illustrated by Kazuhiro Hara. The show premiered on a website called Shosetsuka Ni Naro in 2010 in Japan. Yen Press began publishing an English translation of the novel in 2015.

This series of anime, animated by Satelight, began airing on NHK Educational TV on October 5, 2013. The second season aired on October 4, 2014. by Studio Din. The next third season will also be by Studio Deen.

According to reports, NHK did not have materials for a new season. However, the news of the third season is confirmed and it is also revealed that the third season will be based on the twelfth part of the series of novels.
