Friends Reunion: Courteney Cox Would Like Timothee Chalamet To Play Joey

Recently, Courteney Cox appears on comedian Kevin Nealon’s YouTube series “Hiking with Kevin.” In the conversation, the 55-year-old actor revealed who she believes could play one of the roles if ‘Friends’ was to ever reboot with younger stars.

There has been a rumor that ‘Friends’ to have a reunion in HBO Max.  While on a stroll in Los Angeles, Nealon questioned the “Friends” star which modern actors she would cast if the popular show were to be made today.

Timothee Chalamet As Joey

‘Well, Timothée Chalamet can be Joey,’ the 55-year-old actress said with almost no hesitation.

‘He’s so fabulous,’ she added, admitting that the 24-year-old Oscar-nominee seems a little bit like the Joey Tribbiani character in the show.

The 55-year-old actress then threw it to Nealon, who recommended Jonah Hill as Ross.

Luckily for “Friends” purists, the guest casting was just for entertainment as there are no plans to reboot the beloved show any time soon. In fact, viewers are still clamoring for the original cast of Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer to rejoin for a scripted reunion.

Friends Cast To Reunite For HBO Show

Although it would not be scripted, fans were granted their wish earlier this week when it was declared that the “Friends” crew is officially rejoining for an exclusive exceptional set to debut on HBO’s new streaming platform when it starts in May.

The special will notice all six stars of the show to return to the sitcom’s original soundstage on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California, for a look back at the iconic, Emmy-winning show.

‘Guess you could call this the thing where they all arrived back together — we are rejoining with David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire ‘Friends’ library,’ stated the chief content officer of HBO Max and president of TBS, TNT, and truTV, Kevin Reilly.

In her interview with Kevin Nealon, the 55-year-old actress told that getting the full cast of Friends back together is not only interesting but pretty rare.

‘It took forever, and I do not know how many years, maybe 15 years. We ultimately all got together and had dinner,’ Courteney Cox told Nealon. ‘When we get together — which is never, it just does not happen very often, like twice since we finished the show — it’s just the greatest fun. We laugh so hard.’
