77-Year-Old Man Charged For Criminal Homicide For Killing His Nephew

Officers have booked an elderly man for killing his nephew and a woman

A 77-year-old man was charged with murder and attempted murder after his nephew was killed and another woman was killed on Sunday morning.

The police arrested William Gardner in the shooting of 54-year-old Jerry Birdwell and Birdwell’s fiancée in the co-house of Block 8000 on Jackman Road in Guilton.

According to police reports, Gardner would have kicked his nephew’s bedroom door and shot the couple around five in the morning.

The wounded woman informed the officers about the incidence

Tammy Cornwell, 55, called 911 to report that she and Beardwell had been wounded.

Police say she was injured on the arm. Birdwell died on the spot.

After shooting, the police said Gardner fled away from the house. He later stopped near the Madison area where he was being held.

According to Cornwall, Birdwell and Cornwall would have been involved in previous conflicts with Gardner.
