Two teenage girls lost their precious lives when their family members killed them, and they became victims of Honor Killings. A video of the scene leads to this disaster which cost two lives.
The two girls, aged 16 and 18, were brutally shot at the border village, Shaam Plain Gary, on the border of North and South Waziristan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Both Men who confessed about the cruel incident, one of them is identified as the father of one of the girls who got shot, and the second man is the brother of the other young girl.
Why Honor Killing?
An honor killing is such a brutal exercise to its limit, and it mainly happens when someone murders their family member because they somehow disrespected the family name. Most of the cases include elope with couples and have extra-marital relationships.
The defendants said the victims were killed and buried in their native village.
Initial investigations show that the suspects opened fire on the victims over the video infamy.
Cause of Killing
The video that they were honor-killed for exposing a young man recording himself with them and another girl in an isolated area.
However, enforcement is investigating to try and pursue the third girl, the young man who was also in the video to make sure they are safe. As per the reports, the third girl and the boy are still alive.
However, about 1000 murders happen in the nation on an annual basis.
