Ubisoft is surrounding by many speculations with its latest leaks to new arrivals. Assasin’s Creed Valhalla is the next one in the lineup and various others, such as Rainbow Six Quarantine and Watch Dogs Legion.
However, amidst renewing many franchises from time to time, Ubisoft almost forgot some potential franchises. Likes of Prince of Persia and Splinter cell are still not on the radar of the Developer as they are not focusing on them currently.
Splinter Cell
Everybody wants Sam Fischer to return, and even his appearance in Ghost Recon Breakpoint was not enough for the fans. They desperately want the franchise on board, and as the current generation of technology and mechanics would be much unpredictable.
After the release of Blacklist, the franchise rumored to have another edition but getting ruled out every year.
Current Status of Development
Only a VR version of Splinter Cell is currently in development, and it’s not sure that whether its a new version or not. Meanwhile, fans demanding for another edition of the franchise. Ubisoft CEO asserted some facts that Ubisoft is planning to bring another edition of Splinter Cell as they desperately want to renew the franchise.
Shift Of Focus
As it is evident that the Ghost Recon franchise is getting much more attention than Splinter Cell in terms of the same mechanics. The two breakthroughs with The Division franchise is also one of the major reason that Splinter Cell is not primarily focused.
Expected Release Date
Considering the fact that Splinter Cell project is under development somehow, then the game could land in a year or two. So we could expect the new edition in the fall of 2024, and this is possible when everything goes in favor of the project.
Not just Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia is also one of the major franchises which need some attention at the moment.
