Season 1 focuses on Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager, and murderer began loving a customer named Guinevere Beck and soon develops an emotional, violent, and delusional passion.

In season 2, Joe Goldberg moves from New York to Los Angeles to leave his past and works over with a new character. When he joins chef Love Quinn, Joe starts repeating his old ways of delusion and violence. As Joe attempts to make a new desire, he chooses to make his relationship with Love to gain at all costs, to bypass the fate of his earlier romantic efforts.
