A brief description of the incidence:
The man is found guilty of the murder of his girlfriend, who was reportedly found at her home in New Jersey on Tuesday.
Dumont Police reached on the scene after they were informed by a 5-year-old girl who was wandering independently in the area.
Police found that the child’s mother, 36-year-old Michelle Burns, lived in the building and that she did not answer her phone – leading agents found her dead in her apartment, according to the reports.
The suspect attacked the woman on head and neck:
Burns was reportedly stabbed in the head and neck with a kitchen knife.
According to the reports, a female relative told police that she heard Burns and her boyfriend, Jeffrey Daniels, 36, arguing in their apartment. The woman said she called Burns’s phone, but she didn’t answer. Shortly afterward, barefoot, naked Daniel knocked loudly on her door while carrying his baby and daughters and asking them to drive.
Officers arrested Daniels:
Daniels was arrested hours after Burns’ body was found. Daniels’ two children were unharmed.
Charges against Daniel:
Daniels was charged with murder, possession of weapons and endangering the well-being of a child. Reports have shown that Daniels is not the father of the 5-year-old girl who roamed alone but is the father of the child and the young girls who are also Burn’s daughters.
The children are safe with their family
Officers reported that the two younger girls were in the Hackensack University Medical Center pending a response from the Children and Families Department. The oldest daughter is with her family.
