Police said that Fotis Dulos, the estranged husband of missing Connecticut mom Jennifer Dulos, was charged with capital murder, murder, and kidnapping on Tuesday.
Michelle Troconis, Fotis Dulos’ girlfriend, was also taken in custody, and charged with conspiracy to perform the murder.
An attorney who has represented Fotis Dulos, Kent Mahwinney, was charged with plot to commit murder. Mawhinney continues at large.
Jennifer Dulos disappeared on May 24 amid the former couple’s controversial custody battle. The estranged husband shared five children with Jennifer Dulos.
Jennifer Dulo’s body has never been discovered.
Connecticut State Police arrested Fotis Dulos at his house on Tuesday.
His defense attorney, Norm Pattis, said on Tuesday that “We are confident about our odds.”
Fotis Dulos and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, were initially taken into custody in June and charged with obstructing prosecution and tampering with or fabricating physical proof in connection with Jennifer Dulos’ missing. The couple was again taken into custody months later on extra charge of tampering with evidence.
State police have claimed in court documents that Fotis Dulos was “lying in wait” for Jennifer Dulos at her New Canaan house, and a violent attack took place in the garage, where bloodstains found.
According to arrest warrants, dresses and sponges with Jennefer Dulos’ blood were found in garbage cans where surveillance cameras recorded a man resembling to be Fotis Dulos’ placing of garbage bags. A woman in the man’s vehicle matches the description of Fotis Dulos’ girlfriend, Troconis, according to the records.
Fotis Dulos’ bail set at $6 million after his arrest on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Fotis Dulos will be arraigned. Troconis’ bond has been set at $2 million.
Jennifer Dulos’ mother has care of the Dulos’ five kids.
