Florida Man, 29, Allegedly Used Snapchat To Engage 13-Year-Old Girl In Physical Activities

A 29-year-old Florida man was booked on Friday night for using a fake Snapchat profile to lure a 13-year-old girl for physical relation

Joaquin Mendes is accused of obscene or lustful beatings of a victim under the age of 16.

The 13-year-old’s mother called the police on Friday afternoon after finding “text messages” on the girl’s phone during a routine checkup. The victim told her mother that Mendes picked her up on Friday morning in her car and drove her into the woods, where they had physical relations. She claimed that they met on Facebook.

The suspect used someone else’s identity to make accounts

Investigators investigating the case found that the Instagram and Snapchat account Mendes used to connect with the girl contained images of a young black man who looked nothing like Mendes.

Charges:

The lawmakers found Mendes’ car later on Friday afternoon and guarded the house until the detectives returned with a search and arrest warrant. He was arrested around 1:30 pm on Saturday and locked up in Volusia County Jail, where he was held on $ 25,000 bail Saturday night, according to prison records.
