Teenager Charged With Intentional Murder In Wisconsin Protest Shooting

A teen boy is booked for fatal shooting during a protest at Kenosha

According to the reports, a 17-year-old Illinois boy who was arrested after the fatal shooting Tuesday night during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin has been formally charged with six counts.

Charges against the suspect

Kyle Rittenhouse was charged with first-degree murder for the murder of 26-year-old Anthony Huber; reckless first-degree murder for the murder of 36-year-old Joseph Rosenbaum; and attempted first-degree murder in connection with the wounding of 26-year-old Gaige Grosskreutz. In addition to this, he is charged with two counts of reckless first-degree security threat and one count of possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under the age of 18.

Rittenhouse escaped from the scene immediately after the firing, past the heavily armed police, and approached his home in Antioch, Illinois. He was booked there on Wednesday and is awaiting extradition to Wisconsin.

Rusten can be seen firing in the video

The protests began in Kenosha on Sunday when city police shot 29-year-old Jacob Blake in the back seven times. In the video of the shooting, Blake leans towards his SUV, where his three children were, and Officer Rusten Sheski opens fire while holding the tail of his shirt.

Kenosha police later said the knife was found on the floor of Blake’s car but was not seen with a weapon in the video, according to the Journal Sentinel. Now Blake is said to be paralyzed by the dead.

During the protests in Kenosha, several militia members showed up, armed and vowing to defend the property from the protesters. Rittenhouse appeared to be among those people on Tuesday, although as a minor he was not allowed to carry a gun in either Illinois or Wisconsin.

Rosenbaum got injuries all over his body

Rittenhouse first shot Rosenbaum, who is stalking an unarmed teenager in the video. The complaint alleges that Rosenbaum received a gunshot wound to his groin, back, and arm, had a scratch on the right side of his forehead, and a superficial wound on his left thigh.

After the shooting in Rosenbaum, Rittenhouse ran down Sheridan Road and a group of people chased after him, some shouting that he had shot someone. He stumbled and fell to the ground, shooting Huber and Großkerutz. Then he got up and left.

Other footage shows Rosenbaum talking to other militias and police before the shooting.
