Selena Gomez And Miley Cyrus Take Instagram On Fire In The Latest Live

Selena Gomez recently dropped an immense announcement of her mental health status at a time when many of her followers could use the break from the news while waiting for the coronavirus pandemic.

On Friday, the former Disney star publicly discussed its bipolar disorder in Instagram Live video call with Miley Cyrus ‘fellow previous Disney channel on Cyrus’ social media site ‘Bright Minded.’

Selena And Miley Talked About Variety Of Topics

The close friends touched on several subjects in the live chat that was broadcast to some 180,000 visitors. When the mental health problem came up, Gomez sprang right in and introduced Cyrus on a trip to a psychiatric hospital outside Boston, in which Gomez said she had made her discovery.

Selena’s Bipolar Diagnosis

“I recently went to McLean Hospital, one of the best mental hospitals in America, and after years of several different problems, I knew I was bipolar,” Gomez remembered, as seen in a video that was posted by the fan.

I think people are scared of that, right? she added. They’re like, ‘Oh’ Because I saw that, I saw some of my own family, that I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ I’m from Texas. It’s not common to talk about mental health. You have to look good. So, I see the rage build-up of young children and teenagers or even young adults because they’re too terrible with it.

Selena And Emotional Problems

A source reported then, “Selena is emotionally overwhelming like many people are. She took it on herself to deal personally with her emotional problems and found care in an East Coast facility.”

Selena’s Huge Donation

Gomez also spoke for 20 minutes about the considerable donation she gave this week to the Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center – the same hospital in which she operated against lupus and underwent a kidney transplant in 2017. During 2018, Gomez also provided mental health treatment at the hospital.

The McLean Award

In September 2019, McLean Hospital in Massachusetts awarded the Pop Star with the McLean Award for Mental Health promotion at the hospital’s annual dinner in 2019.

The award acknowledges individuals who have “increased public awareness of the mental and behavioral illness,” according to the website. Former NFL recipient Brandon Marshall, ABC news anchor Elizabeth Vargas, singer Judy Collins and actress Jane Fonda were among the last winners of the McLean Award.
