A 30-year-old arrested on suspicion of dangerous attack
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of hazardous assault and detained in the famous city night-spot, just outside Primark.
A representative for Greater Manchester Police told they were called at about 6.30 pm to reports of two people wounded after a dispute.
‘Soon before 6.20 pm on Sunday 12 January 2024, the authority was called to reports that two people had been killed on Market Street,’ the police representative stated.
‘Four people have been wounded, and one has been taken to the hospital for care.’
‘This is being considered as a separate incident, and there is not deemed to be any wider warning to the society.’
‘Anyone who saw the incident or has video or information contact police.’
Services are impacted due to the incident
Metrolink stated on social site that services are affected due to the occurrence near Market Street.
It is perceived a large cordon remains in location, and the authority investigation is in the early stages.
A 30 year sold onlooker revealed: “A man in his 50s carrying a rag to his face went into Tesco Express and purchased a three-litre bottle of cider all the while bleeding.
‘He moved to near Ladbrokes where I count it occurred, and the ground was finished in little spots of blood.’
‘An individual was on the call to A&E I suppose to say he had been killed.’
‘Within 2-3 mins about 7-8 cop vehicles and ambulances rushed Portland street.’
