Netflix and Brighlight Pictures partnered together to bring a bestseller in the New York Times into a small screen. Brightlight is no stranger to the Netflix series of novels. Stephen King’s 1922, an entertaining take on the original tale of the book, was their previous successes. They’re not only making for Netflix, and The Good Doctor is one of their creations running on ABC.
Potential Release Date:
The show was first confirmed when Netflix was announced to order ten episodes in February 2019. According to the reports, the date of release for the next Firefly Lane series will still be confirmed other than that Netflix received a specific release date of 2024.

Expected Plot Details:
Since most of the series follows the book, we may presume that it will stick to certain parts of the original story. It should be noted that in this series, the creator, Kristin Hannah, wrote two novels, the second being Fly Away. If at the end of the first year the series goes beyond what is in the first novel, and it does well, the second book could be published, giving the showrunners a shot in the second season.
The story is set in the 1970s and follows Kate Mularkey and Tully Hart as they navigate the whims of time and their backgrounds. The book is a brilliant and heartfelt coming-of-age tale that spans four decades and sees both characters grow and change, with each difference impacting the relationship between the two. The first season seems to be filming on location in Vancouver, Canada, with the interior shots being done at The Ironworks Studio.
Production Details:
The show was already filmed as of October 2019 with shooting beginning on 29 September. In September 2019, Katherine Heigl took on social media on post some behind the scenes in which she was sporting a hair color.
As of January 2024, the series continues to film more shots in Vancouver scheduled for 21 January 2024. According to a source, outside parts of Nelson and Homer, which are both in Vancouver, were found shooting.
The shooting lasted until November, and more films took place at 700 Hamilton Street on 12 November.
