A Clevland based officer died on duty
A police veteran died on duty following a shooting in Cleveland.
Chief Calvin Williams confirmed to the authorities that a police officer was killed in the Thursday night shooting. According to a report, the victim was James Skernivitz, 53, who has served in the Cleveland Police Department since 1998.
The officer was pronounced dead on the scene, the second victim is in serious condition
According to the sources, the agent died after being shot and killed in a patrol car at around 10 pm. near West 65th Street and Storer. A second unidentified victim was also fatally wounded and the suspect is reported at liberty.
Authorities have provided few details on the deadly shooting.
The officers are investigating the case. The suspect is still absconding. The officers have sent the description of the suspect to all the nearby police stations and have asked citizens also for help.
