10-year-old girl fighting for life after being hit by an ambulance in Nottinghamshire

An ambulance that was responding to a 999 call hit a 10-year-old schoolgirl in Nottinghamshire. The 10-year-old schoolgirl is fighting for her life.

The girl was hit by the ambulance in the town of Bulwell, Nottinghamshire, at around 6.30 pm on Sunday.

Investigators have confirmed they are investigating the accident and the circumstances that led to the collision.

At 10.30 pm last night, the 10-year-old girl remained in a severe condition, and she was experiencing treatment at Nottingham’s Queens Medical Centre.

Photographs from the collision scene reveal the ambulance in the road with a broken windscreen and dented bonnet, encircled by a number of police and forensic vehicles.

The positioning of the ambulance shows it was approaching a series of traffic lights.

East Midlands Ambulance Service issued a statement many hours after the incident verifying the service vehicle had been responding to a 999 call when the accident happened.

Deputy director of operations Dave Williams said that “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this event. The police are now taking out an investigation into what occurred, and it is, therefore, inappropriate to make any further comment at this time.”

Further information about the incident has not released by the official as the investigation of the case is ongoing. The identity of the 10-year-old schoolgirl has also not been revealed by the authorities.

Officials are investigating what led to the collision.
