A 1-year-old girl shows signs of life after she was declared dead after she drowned at a swimming pool.
A 1-year-old girl is alive, and she is in critical condition after being taken out of a swimming pool in Mesa. The girl was declared dead on Friday afternoon at a hospital, officials said.
According to Mesa Fire and Medical, squads responded to a call to a house near Southern and Greenfield. When crews reported on the scene, the child, Lillian Talboys, had already been taken out from the swimming pool.
The girl’s father stated on the Gofundme that his 1-year-old daughter was playing with her three brothers when she slipped and fell into the swimming pool.
He said that his 14-year-old son picked Lillian out of the pool and performed CPR, and his wife immediately came to help do the same until officials arrived.
Police stated that the 1-year-old girl was transported to a hospital, where she was declared dead. However, she began showing signs of life, and hospital staff conducted life-saving measures.
The 1-year-old girl is alive and in a stable but dangerous condition.
Sources stated that her father said, “She’s fighting, fighting, fighting.”
He stated Lillian is still on a heart and lung machine, but indications are positive and remain positive.
The family of the baby also set up a Gofundme to support with medical expenses.
