House Of Dragon: Game Of Thrones Spin-Off! What Is Known? What Is Not?

The American fantasy drama Game Of Thrones, based on the novel series A Song Of Ice And Fire written by George R.R. Martin, is set to return with a prequel of the show. The spin-off show has been titled as House Of Dragons.

HBO recently announced the prequel. Here is what we know so far.

What Is The Show based on?

The show will be based on the history of the House Of Targaryen. It has officially not been announced but the show might be based on the unfinished novel series Fire And Blood written by George R.R. Martin.

The characters of Game Of Thrones will not be part of this series. The new series is based on the events that took place 300 years before the events of the Game Of Thrones. There will be familiar house names like Stark, Baratheon, and Lannister, the people behind the rise of the House Of Targaryen.

The Team behind The Series

The series will be directed by Miguel Sapochnik. He has previously directed a few episodes of Game Of Thrones. In this series, Sapochnik will direct a few episodes. He will develop and produce the series for HBO. Ryan Condal will be the lead writer of the series. George R.R. Martin and Vince Gerardis who previously produced Game Of Thrones are the executive producers.

Wes Tooke, Claire Kiechel, and Ti Mikkel are the co-writers of the series. Other directors for the series are yet to finalized. The cast of the series has not been decided yet.

When Will The Show Release?

There will be 10 episodes in Season 1. No date has been finalized, but HBO has announced that the series will air sometime in 2024.
