Fake Doctors, Real Friends: Here’s What Fans Should Know About Podcast

Zach Braff and Donald Faison released a revive podcast called Fake Doctors, Real Friends With Zach + Donald, and are currently releasing the first episode. After nine seasons, Scrubs has been off the air for a full decade. Now, the iconic duo has returned to their glory years in the original iHeartRadio podcast of the Sacred Heart Hospital.

Type Of DVD Commentary

“It’s more like a commentary on DVD,” said Braff. “We’re going to sit down and think about funny stories and stuff behind the scenes we know.”

Answer Questions From Fans

The podcast ends with the pilot of the sitcom and brings viewers down the memory lane week after week. Braff and Faison promise to have cast and crew members, including creator Bill Lawrence. They will also call to answer questions from fans about the show and where they are now.

Faison said that They’ve started to think about this for the people who watched the film, for the Zach fans, and who wonder what they do and how they are doing. This is a great place to check-in and hopefully enjoy talks between two of our best friends.

The First Episode

In the first episode, Braff opens up his job at the French Vietnamese restaurant in Beverly Hills when he gets the news of Scrubs and his audition for J.D. Without casting agents knowing he was there before two occasions.

There is also talk behind the scenes of castle member Sarah Chalke, who played Elliot’s emerging doctor and eventually a love interest. “I was in love with her, head over heels,” remembers Braff on the podcast.

The excitement started when Braff tweeted on Feb 11 to ask fans if he and Faison should take a re-view podcast from fans, including the best-selling author of New York Times and fanatical Scrubs Shea Serrano.

Conference From Their Homes

Because of the current coronavirus pandemic, Braff and Faison started a video conference call with their homes. Faison informed that he was instantly taken back to Braff at the table read by Bill Lawrence’s house when he was watching the 2001 pilot season.

For fans wondering if the show is going to go to the poor season 9, which experienced J.D. As a professor at Dave Franco’s medical school, the answer is yes.

Cast & Production

The iHeartMedia, home to other popular podcasts such as Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgandy Podcast and Wells cast, Wells Adams of the Bachelor chapter, was picked by Fake Doctors, Real Friends With Zach + Donald.

From 2001-2008, Scrubs aired on NBC and then ABC from 2009-2010. The cast included Braff as a neurotic doctor J.D., Faison as Turkish, Chalke as Eliot, John C. McGinley as Dr. Cox, and Judy Reyes as Carla. Lawrence, who later created Cougar Town, produced the series.
