When it reached FX in 2011, Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story anthology show has gained plenty of praise and recognition for its eerie, freaky one-season tales. The American Horror Story, with a retroactive title of its first season, sets a new standard for the modern horror genre, mixing gore with classic fantasy awards with dark sexuality, a spectacularly talented cast, and some laughs here and there.
In the years since then, American Horror Story has brought Freak Show circus guests to stay in a creepy house, join a Cult, show a version of the Apocalypse, and lock them in an asylum, only for a moment. The new version, in 1984, brought audiences back into classic slasher films from the 1980s and paid tribute to these field legends so that only Murphy could probably pull them away. In early 2023, news broke out that FX had renewed the show in its lucky 13th season, which means that this next ten season might be a step towards more insane things to come.
For the milestone 10th season in 2023, many people are curious about what Murphy is cooking next, and everybody guesses what new fears the showrunner will make.
It just fits that every year an American Horror Story series will debut around Halloween. Still, after the five premiers of October, the sixth season began in September, and every season after that has followed suit.
AHS: 1984 was recently released on September 18, 2019, so expect the 10th season to air in 2023 at about the same time.

The cast of American Horror Story season 10 will include:
- Kathy Bates
- Billie Lourd
- Finn Wittrock
- Lily Rabe
- Adina Porter
- Leslie Grossman
- Angelica Ross
- Macaulay Culkin
Although it is a while before the FX officially announces the next trend in American Horror Story, diehard fans will watch closely in 1984 to see if there is any speculation in the new season.
Fans have been waiting for AHS in recent years to carry aliens back from season two, and this might be the ideal time to do so.
Kit Walker was whisked away by aliens at the end of asylum, leaving two children with extraterrestrial DNA behind. We know that the two have evolved to be incredibly popular. Still, this string of plots has yet to be revisited, apart from some fleeting references in Apocalypse to spatial music.
