Cuties has created quite a controversy for Netflix, the upcoming French drama is getting backlash for its official poster that was shared by Netflix along with its trailer, the show seems to be showing teenagers in a sexualizing manner.

CONTROVERSY REVOLVING AROUND NETFLIX’S CUTIES 

As we mentioned earlier the poster of the French drama is supposedly promoting and sexualizing teens, the story of the show revolves around an 11-year-old girl who joins a dance group the makers have already come forward to say that the show tackles the issue of sexualization of young girls.

However, that being said still had people going gaga over the poster which is now removed by Netflix, Netflix in a recent tweet also apologized to all their customers about the inappropriate poster for the film.

Here is what they said in the tweet.

No doubt the poster offended alot of people and with no time wasted they started a  petition called “sexualizes an 11-year-old for the viewing pleasure of pedophiles” which gained about 25,000 signatures in less than 24 hours this definitely shows that people have been hurt.

Director Maimouna Doucouré has come forward to explain the logic behind the movie, she said that Cuties is a story that aims to help young girls to show how social media makes them mimic sexual trends without them being fully aware of it.
