Man Charged For Abducting And Assaulting Girlfriend In San Joaquin County

Incident

A man arrested in Stockton is indicted for abducting his girlfriend and assault her, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said.

The regional Police Office confirmed that they collected reports of a brawl Sunday morning in the 19000 blocks of E. Highway 26 in Linden regarding the suspect, Austin Brooks, 35, dizzy, and trying to strangle his girlfriend of one month.

Family Confrontation

Law Enforcers said family members endeavored to stop Brooks, who then became aggressive with them and escaped the scene.

Later on, family members told law enforcement they were awakened up by shrieks coming from the front yard as Brooks returned and forced his girlfriend into his vehicle.

Arrest

The sheriff’s office said Brooks was found several hours later in the 1700 Block of Adelbert Ave, in Stockton, and arrested without conflict.

His girlfriend was also found at the arrest scene where investigators said they learned that she was being kept against her will.

The sheriff’s office said the victim told them Brooks attacked her while the two were in the car.

Charges And Punishments

Brooks was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail where he faces charges of domestic violence, kidnapping, and assault with great bodily harm.
